Guarantee VC is currently seeking an Automotive Mechanic to fill the role of Extended Warranty Claims Adjuster (Automotive) for our Toronto, Ontario office.
The most qualified candidate will have experience working as an Auto Mechanic in an OEM Dealership environment. The Extended Warranty Claims Adjuster will:
- Adjudicate warranty claims accurately and efficiently while delivering a high level of customer service.
- Interpret warranty contracts, assess mechanical failures, determine coverage, and ensure claims are handled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Negotiate repair costs effectively and provide dealerships, contract holders, repair facilities, and business partners with guidance regarding contract coverage, claims procedures, and technical matters.
- Visit dealerships and repair facilities, as required, to inspect vehicles, assess and diagnose mechanical issues, and recommend appropriate repairs for vehicles covered under warranty.
- Follow and continuously optimize GVC’s claims and service processes, including claim eligibility, parts and labour verification, repair cost negotiation, claim authorization and denial, vehicle inspections, and customer service.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and service delivery, and communicate recommendations to team members and management.
- Assist with training and knowledge-sharing initiatives, as required, and contribute to the continuous improvement of service levels and the overall customer experience.
BASIC REQUIREMENT
3+ years of automotive repair and/or warranty claims adjusting experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to interpret automotive service contracts and/or insurance coverage and apply contract terms accurately when adjudicating claims.
- Strong working knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, common mechanical failures, repair procedures, parts, and labour costs.
- Experience assessing repair requirements and determining appropriate coverage based on contract terms and supporting documentation.
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and contract-related information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to resolve questions, concerns, and disputes effectively in challenging situations.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple claims, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment while consistently maintaining accuracy, quality, and service standards.
- Proficient with computer systems and comfortable learning and working with claims management and other business software.
