Concrete Finisher / Formwork Carpenter — Civil Construction (Quesnel, BC)
RAM Excavating Limited is hiring an experienced Concrete Finisher and Formwork person to join our field crews on civil and infrastructure projects throughout the BC Cariboo Interior. This is a hands-on trade role for someone who takes pride in quality concrete work and can handle both the forming and finishing side of the job.
About the Role
Working under the Foreman and Superintendent, you'll be responsible for building and setting forms, placing and finishing concrete, and stripping and prepping for the next pour. The work covers cast-in-place structures typical of civil projects — footings, abutments, walls, headwalls, slabs, curbs, and related concrete elements built to spec.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, set, align, brace, and strip formwork for cast-in-place concrete
- Read and work from drawings to set forms to correct line, grade, and dimension
- Place, consolidate, screed, float, and finish concrete to required tolerances and surface specs
- Set rebar, embeds, anchor bolts, and other cast-in items as directed
- Apply form release, curing compounds, and surface treatments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow all RAM safety procedures (FLHAs, toolbox talks)
- Operate hand and power tools and basic concrete equipment safely
- Support the crew with general labour tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in concrete finishing AND formwork on civil, commercial, or infrastructure projects (bridge/structural concrete an asset)
- Ability to read and work from construction drawings
- Solid knowledge of forming systems, concrete placement, and finishing techniques
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and on physically demanding tasks
- Strong safety awareness and reliable attendance
- Valid BC driver's licence an asset; own transportation to site
- Trade certification (Concrete Finisher / Carpenter) an asset but not required for the right experienced candidate
What We Offer
Competitive wages based on experience. This is a temporary part time position right now but may grow into a long term position as the year develops.

Pay: $35.00-$42.50 per hour
