Contributes to the overall success of the SEO & Content Team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Plan, write, edit, and measure content for our Forward Thinking Blog to serve a variety of digital channels and products, ensuring the tone and writing style express and elevate the brand voice.
Write compelling content that drives traffic and engagement on all owned and earned channels.
Translate SEO keyword research into clear and compelling content that positively impacts search.
Drive the creation of user-centric content leveraging strategic insights, design thinking, and industry trends and research.
Participate in design reviews and collaborate with visual designers on content strategy, concepts, narrative, and storytelling.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Skills you need to Succeed?
Undergraduate degree or postgrad certificate in communications, journalism or equivalent experience
5 to 7 years working experience writing or editing content for the web and mobile experiences, as a UX writer, web editor, copywriter, content strategist, or similar
Expert communications skills with exceptional writing abilities — a sharp writer, detail-oriented, creative, and a superb editor
Has a demonstrable portfolio of work (professional and personal) that showcases the digital applications you’ve worked on and includes examples of your storytelling skills
Possesses a positive and resilient personality that embraces feedback and a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
Comfortable working in a self-guided manner with tight timeframes and mentoring junior writers as required
Expert research and accuracy skills
Good working knowledge of multimedia, publishing and analytics tools
Knowledge of the financial services industry
Strong interpersonal, communications and relationship management skills
Attention to detail, and high-level of accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects
