Job Summary
You will join a respirology practice as a Medical Office Assistant, working in a bright and beautiful space near Royal Jubilee Hospital alongside two other Respirologists and MOAs. Duties:
-Coordinates patient care through the Clinic – checking in, confirming patient information, pharmacy and GP information.
-Answers enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
-Reviews and sorts all incoming mail and faxes.
-Maintains appointment schedule, manages recalls and patient referrals.
-Maintains appointments for investigations and procedures, including completion of appropriate imaging requisition, and arranging for patient follow up.
-Maintains electronic medical record, including the patient chart.
-Ensures patient confidentiality.
-Performs all other related clinical, administrative tasks or special tasks as required.
Skills and Abilities:
-Works well in a team environment.
-Good written and verbal communication skills.
-Proficiency with a computer including using the internet, the electronic medical record and MS Office software.
-Speed and accuracy.
-Can solve problems.
-Has good judgment.
Qualifications:
-Medical Office Assistant certificate (or equivalent)
-Medical Terminology
-Experience with electronic medical record (Accuro)
Onsite Training:
There will be an opportunity to train with an experienced MOA during your first week.
Pay:
Range of pay is based on experience but will be betwen $26.00 and $30.00
Hours:
Hours typically range from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. No evenings or weekends.
Work location:
In person.
Vacation:
2 weeks paid vacation to start plus additional paid time off during December.
