The Opportunity
The School of Construction is one of the largest schools at SAIT, with approximately 200 faculty and support staff providing training to more than 7,500 full-time and part-time students each year. To meet the diverse needs of the modern construction sector, the School of Construction offers approximately 20 full-time programs that are regularly reviewed and updated by expert advisory committees, ensuring curriculum is always relevant.
We are currently recruiting an Instructor to provide academic leadership and instruction to Glazier apprenticeship students and ensure they achieve established learning outcomes. Reporting to the Academic Chair, you will create a learning environment that is technically supported and innovative in nature. Additionally, you will utilize current information and communication technology in the development and delivery of course content.

Note: This is an adjunct instructor position.
The Role
Educate students utilizing existing curriculum resources and utilize a variety of instructional techniques to promote learning and personal development, in a blend of online and face to face delivery.
Evaluate student progress and achievement.
Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners.
Demonstrate personal interest in the success of the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning.
Qualifications
Minimum Alberta or Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate as a Glazier
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyperson in a variety of installation and service environments is desired
Prior teaching or training experience in adult education is an asset
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and presentation software
Strong communication and human relation skills with the ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of subjects to students, respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning styles.
Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in a consultative decision-making process
