Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Construction Site Manager to oversee construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves coordinating daily site activities, supervising team members, and maintaining project timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, construction knowledge to successfully manage multiple aspects of construction sites on a part-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations on the construction site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets industry standards and client expectations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans accurately
- Assist in budgeting and cost control by tracking expenses and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations
- Facilitate government inspections and project sign-offs
Skills
- Strong supervising experience within the construction industry
- Excellent blueprint reading and schematic interpretation skills
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and construction estimating processes
- Skilled in using construction schematics for planning and troubleshooting
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to supervise teams and coordinate with stakeholders
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations applicable to construction sites
Requirements
- MUST be Fluent in English and Chinese (both verbal and written)
- Experience in construction site management
- Valid driver's license
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code is an asset
- Local work experience preferred
