Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and service, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering delicious meals that meet our customers' expectations while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including but not limited to: e.g., salads, sandwiches, entrees
- Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
- Ensure food quality and presentation standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with kitchen operations, including stocking and prepping ingredients
- Maintain accurate inventory records of food and supplies
- May be required to assist with setting up and overseeing buffets
Qualifications:
- Proven professional kitchen experience
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Culinary school diploma or certificate is a plus
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is required.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, meal preparation, and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are necessary for success in this role.
- A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences is highly valued.
