As a Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice at Clauger, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to install, repair, and maintain industrial refrigeration systems. This role supports operations across food and beverage facilities, cold storage, and ice rink environments. You will gain hands-on experience with refrigeration systems, emphasizing safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Job Duties
- Assist with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration systems in industrial settings
- Work collaboratively within a team or independently on job sites as needed
- Follow and execute facility operations and maintenance processes accurately
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure service excellence
- Demonstrate a strong environmental, health, and safety commitment in all work activities
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency callouts as required
- Wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on-site
Job Knowledge
- Knowledge of refrigeration system basics and maintenance
- Ability to maintain a strong client-service orientation and respond with urgency
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with safety protocols and adherence to industry standards
Job Requirements
- Education: Year 4, or 5 Class 313A Refrigeration Apprentice certification
- Licenses and Certifications: Full G-Class driver’s license required; Gas Fitter license is an asset
- Skills: Experience with ammonia refrigerants is an asset; controls experience is an asset
- Availability: Willingness to work on-call and standby for emergency situations

Pay: $44.00-$52.00 per hour
Additional pay:
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Ammonia refrigeration: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 313A Refrigeration Mechanic License (required)
- Full G-Class driver's license (required)
Ability to Relocate:
- Toronto, ON: Relocate before starting work (required)
