Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Canteen Grill Attendant to join our food service team. This role involves preparing and serving food in a fast-paced environment, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and food safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cashiering, and food industry operations, with a focus on delivering a positive and fun experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of grilled items and other menu offerings efficiently and accurately
- Operate POS systems such as squareand cash handling
- Manage customer transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the food prep and serving areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and courteously
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Assist with basic kitchen duties, including cleaning workstations and equipment after use
- Manage time effectively to handle high-volume periods while maintaining quality standards
- Must be able to work weekends
- Reliable and friendly with a positive attitude
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS or similar platforms
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Cashiering experience including cash handling and basic math skills for accurate transactions
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Grill and BBQ experience is required
Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
