Job Description
We are seeking a visionary, highly strategic Executive to lead the launch and operational execution of an innovative Chartered Day-Hospital.In light of the recent regulatory frameworks established by Alberta Health Bill 11 (Health Statutes Amendment Act), this facility is uniquely positioned to maximize Primary Healthcare assisted by Allied Practitioners , Surgical Operatories, Diagnostic Imaging and Medical Specialists through Advanced Medical & Surgical Clinic’s Day-Hospital.Medical Longevity is promoted Health and Wellness through Prevention.The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex non-clinical operational logistics, medical staff recruitment, and forward-thinking digital health frameworks. You will work closely with executive leadership to expand surgical capacity, optimize patient workflow, and maintain stringent provincial compliance.
Core Responsibilities
- Clinical Workforce Management: Recruit, onboard, and manage a multidisciplinary network of Primary Care Practitioners, Medical Specialists, and Day-Surgery Teams. Organize scheduling to respect public-system minimum hour requirements for dual-practice practitioners.
- Bill 11 Strategic Execution: Direct the facility’s operations to align perfectly with Employer Based Health Benefit Assurance Guidelines. Navigate the operational interplay between publicly funded, contracted services, and integrated health services.
- Technology Collaboration: Work in close concert with our Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to map out, fund, and deploy interoperable healthcare technologies. Ensure electronic medical records (EMR) and diagnostic platforms smoothly bridge provincial health databases and private infrastructure.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous facility accreditation through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) for day-procedure and non-hospital surgical parameters.
- Financial & Facility Oversight: Accountable for budget allocation, surgical suite utilization metrics, procurement of specialized equipment, and administrative efficiency within a fast-paced day-hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree (MHA, MBA, or MPH) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive operations leadership experience in an acute care setting, surgical facility, or multi-specialty clinic.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Alberta healthcare landscape, Alberta Health Services (AHS) frameworks, and the operational implications of Bill 11.
- Technical Acumen: Demonstrated experience collaborating on large-scale health informatics, interoperability projects, or telehealth deployment.
- Leadership: Exceptional negotiation, recruitment, and crisis-management capabilities tailored to modern physician models.
