The Warehouse Planning and Inventory Coordinator is a key position in the Montreal operations team. Through analysis and planning, the Coordinator will support management decisions for several aspects of the Logistics department: distribution, production, inbound, 3PL warehouse and inventory control.
A day in the life of a Warehouse Planning and Inventory Coordinator:
You will be responsible to analyze, plan and organize warehouse slotting and space to maximize warehouse capacity. You will manage and schedule inbound in-transit of products to give full visibility to other departments of the flow of arrival. You will also work with custom brokers by providing relevant documentation for custom clearance. You will plan and organize workforce and equipment for the unloading schedule. You will manage daily operations with 3PL warehouses by providing forecast of inbound and outbound products. You will be the process owner for the cycle count program including supervision of stocktaking, performing the reconciliation and posting adjustments as well as controlling inventory transactions to monitor impact on inventory accuracy.
You will also:
Analyse sales forecast and in-transit inventory to manage on hand inventory movement (inbound, outbound, stock transfer). Control and monitor warehouse and 3PL capacity to stay in line with department KPI’s.
Plan and supervise unloading schedule and operations. Work with sales, sales planning, order administration teams to define unloading priorities. Supervise and coach the unloading team
Review and analyse in-transit report and maintain KPI’s
Plan and supervise weekly stocktaking by union employees
Coordinate custom clearance with our brokers and carriers
Support Distribution Manager and Production Manager in their duties
Monitor inventory movement and communicate inventory transaction issues, escalating when required
Manage yearly physical inventory process
What you will bring:
Post-secondary school education with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a logistics, distribution, or production environment
Proficiency with SAP (or other ERP systems)
Experience working with MS office, strong knowledge of Excel preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
Ability to communicate effectively with internal or external customers, peers and management
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work within a team
Strong Analytical skills
Good knowledge inventory management
Good knowledge of customs
Problems solving skills
