Who we’re looking for:
Fastfrate Group is looking for a Lead Hand Dockworker to join our fast-paced team at our Calgary, Alberta Terminal.
What you’ll do:
- Provide direction to dockworkers
- Accurately routes inbound freight to prepare deliveries to customers
- Loads, unloads and moves product and materials to and from trailers and containers onto dock
- Operates equipment such as forklift, clamp truck, dollies, or hand trucks, etc.
- Inspects equipment prior to commencing shift and as required during shift
- Verifies accuracy of product being received and shipped
- May be required to break down skids of product and build smaller orders for delivery to customer
- Maintains a proactive safety and security program in compliance with Company policies and procedures
- Updates shift Supervisors and Managers on issues as required
- Completes various documents as required
- Maintains a clean and safe work area
- May be required to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs.)
- Candidate must be able to work any shift, weekends included. Our hours of operation are 24 hours per day 7 days per week
Must Haves:
- Team Lead Experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Great attendance record
- Proven communication skills – written and oral
- Demonstrated leadership, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrate drive, initiative, and flexibility to ensure task completion
- Must have a clean criminal record check
- Must have good working knowledge of all LTL Dock Operating Procedures
- PC skills – Work, Outlook, and Excel
- 2 years Sit Down Forklift experience required
- 2 years LTL Cross Dock experience required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.90 per hour
