Belvika is currently seeking a CI Engineer for its Mississauga facility. This role will work with the Manager of CI and Engineering, in playing a vital role in implementing CAPEX projects and continuous improvement initiatives fostering a culture of Operational Excellence. The CI Engineer will act as change agent, working with various departmental groups to implement change in process and support the development of customer driven growth while building strong customer relationships.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage multiple CAPEX projects through planning, design, organization, and execution of continuous improvement and growth strategies from conceptual stage through to implementation;
- Oversee and build relationships with external stakeholders such as contractors, vendors, and customers;
- Utilize a diverse toolkit of methodologies to gather information and data from staff and stakeholders;
- Recommend fact-based improvements which increase efficiency and effectiveness, while understanding and balancing requirements of multiple stakeholders;
- Conduct activities that include the assessment of process change impacts and risks to employees. Develop a plan to mitigate the risks;
- Oversee key steps in the process improvement effort including the collection and analysis of data, the development of solutions, and the deployment of plans while ensuring the impact of change is effectively measured and sustained;
- Provide status updates on the improvement and development of projects to inform stakeholders, including the Leadership team;
- Build trust with colleagues and business partners by demonstrating personal consistency in communications and actions. Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and find win-win solutions;
- Prioritize and manage own workload with consideration of the workload of team members and key subject matter resources, to deliver results;
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner;
- Follow all Company health and safety policies and procedures and work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Other all other duties as assigned.
Education/Work experience requirements:
- Minimum of two years in project management with experience in managing CAPEX projects (responsible for successful project delivery end-to-end) in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Technical discipline
- P. Eng. is an asset.
- Food manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Experience in leading projects that require initiative and the ability influence change management in a positive way.
- Lean Six Sigma and PMP designations are an asset. Valid Driver’s License & access to own personal vehicle;
- Ability to travel to other sites as required;
- Knowledge of packaging materials and food packaging equipment an asset;
Key technical & behavioural competencies:
- Strong Computer and Microsoft Office experience;
- Effective communication, leadership and teamwork skills;
