Commercial Roofing General Labourers ($20–$22/hr, Mississauga)
Our client in Mississauga is looking to hire hardworking General Labourers to join their roofing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is not afraid of heights, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to be part of a skilled crew. General labourers support the roofing crew by preparing the work site before roofing or spray application, assisting throughout the project, and completing cleanup afterward.
MUST HAVE WORKING AT HEIGHTS CERTIFICATION!!! DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU ARE CERTIFIED!
Details:
- Duration: 1 - 2 months, with potential to go longer depending on jobs
- Pay: $20 - $22/hr, based on experience
- Location: Mississauga, ON
Responsibilities:
- Prepare commercial roofs for repair or coating
- Remove debris, dirt, gravel, and old roofing materials
- Assist with roof tear-off and surface preparation
- Load, unload, and move roofing materials, tools, hoses, and equipment
- Set up ladders, safety barriers, and fall protection
- Protect HVAC units, vents, skylights, and other rooftop equipment before spraying
- Assist experienced roofers with insulation and membrane installation as directed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Complete final cleanup after work is finished
Requirements:
- Valid Working at Heights certification required
- Prior construction or roofing experience is an asset but not necessary - training can be provided
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform labour intensive tasks
- Comfortable working at heights on flat commercial roofs (not steep or peak residential roofs)
- Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to follow direction
- Must be able to reliably commute to Mississauga for early morning start times
