Hargrave Street Market Located in True North Square- 242 Hargrave Street is looking for dedicated, experienced, and motivated Line Cooks & Kitchen Manager to join the kitchen team at Gusto North, Yard Burger + Good Fight Taco and The 44.
The successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining food quality, kitchen organization, sanitation, and smooth day-to-day operations.
What to be excited for in this role:
- Monitor prep levels, inventory, product quality, and food waste, communicating needs or concerns to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient kitchen, including proper food storage, sanitation, and equipment care.
- Support opening and closing procedures and ensure the kitchen is fully prepared for each service.
- Train and mentor team members on recipes, procedures, food safety, cleanliness, and service standards.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Help resolve day-to-day operational issues and communicate effectively with the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
- Ensure consistent kitchen standards and food-safety practices throughout every shift.
- lead and support daily kitchen prep, service, and overall workflow.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality food while following recipes, portioning, presentation, and company standards.
- Oversee kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and provide direction during busy service periods.
- Perform additional kitchen and operational duties as assigned by culinary management.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience as a line cook, senior line cook, lead cook, chef, or kitchen supervisor.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a related field for the Kitchen Manager opportunity.
- Food Handler/Food Safe certification required.
- Strong knowledge of professional kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Ability to lead by example and provide direction to other kitchen team members.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and accountable.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in food quality.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain high standards under pressure.
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a strong team environment.
- Willingness and flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
