Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Retail Associate / Grooming Assistant to join our pet retail and services team. This opportunity is part-time with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent position. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and customer service skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and feel comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
This role combines retail support, customer service, daycare assistance, and grooming support. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking, working as part of a team, and helping create a safe and positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Responsibilities
- Checking customers in and out of daycare and grooming appointments while relaying information to groomers and clients
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling duties
- Collaborate with team members to enhance customer service experiences through effective upselling techniques
- Support sales activities through merchandising efforts and retail sales assistance
- Answer phone calls and assist in scheduling appointments and providing information on pricing or product availability
- Assist groomers with bathing, drying, brushing, and preparing dogs for grooming appointments
- Safely handle pets during grooming and daycare activities
- Support daycare operations by supervising, walking, and cleaning up after dogs
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming, daycare, and retail areas
- Restock retail products and assist with inventory organization
Experience
- Previous experience working with pets or have owned pets.
- Experience in retail sales or customer service environments is beneficial
- Comfortable handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer and phone etiquette skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting pets or supplies when needed
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
