Brown’s Industrial has an opportunity available for a Small Engine Mechanic. Our small engine mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines used in equipment such as water pumps, lawnmowers, ATV’s, generators, and other small engines. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues in small engines
· Repair or replace defective parts such as carburetors, spark plugs, fuel systems, and ignition systems
· Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups
· Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality
· Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed
· Provide cost estimates and explain repairs to customers
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment
· Follow safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
Role Requirements:
· Certification in small engine repair or a related field
· Previous experience as a small engine mechanic or in a similar mechanical role (asset)
· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
· Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
· Experience with hand and power tools
· Attention to detail and good troubleshooting ability
· Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment
· Good communication and customer service skills
