As a Roll-Off Driver you will be responsible for operating the truck safely and requiring physical labor like mounting and dismounting the truck to hook and unhook containers, secure tarps, and ensure proper disposal at designated facilities, all while adhering to safety regulations and company policies; essentially, they are involved in the collection and transportation of waste using specialized roll-off containers.
Key responsibilities of a Roll Off Driver:
- Container Handling: Delivering, picking up, and positioning roll-off containers at customer locations.
- Loading and Unloading: Manually hooking and unhooking containers from the truck, ensuring proper placement and securing loads with tarps.
- Route Management: Following assigned routes to pick up waste from various customer sites.
- Safety Checks: Performing pre- and post-trip inspections on the truck and equipment, reporting any mechanical issues.
- Compliance: Adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Customer Interaction: Communicating with customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues with container placement.
- Paperwork: Completing necessary paperwork including load manifests and delivery receipts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid DZ license with appropriate endorsements
- 3 years of experience working with compactors.
- 3 years of experience operating a Roll-Off truck on a commercial policy.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including climbing on and off the truck, lifting containers, and securing tarps
- Good spatial awareness and maneuvering skills for navigating tight spaces
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
