Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Field Service Manager to lead our technical service team. The ideal candidate will oversee field operations, coordinate service activities, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership. This role requires excellent communication skills, project management expertise, and the ability to supervise a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Build the service business within the assigned geographic territory
- Ensure all KPI are met for all Service Technicians
- Manage service, parts, and warehouse operations for the associated branch
- Maintain and repair electrical power generators and associated components.
- Install enclosures, winterizing components and accessories to generators.
- Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical problems on-site, in-shop and via telephone.
- Perform regular scheduled service and load bank testing as per maintenance contracts.
- Perform generator commissioning and startup inspections.
- Maintain the physical branch building and assets in good order
- Be the primary technical resource for the associated branch
- Be the primary and lead for commissioning of all new sales projects
- Ensure ServiceFusion is utilized exclusively for scheduling, work orders, and quotes.
- Ensure all entries in ServiceFusion and Foundation are kept up to date daily.
- Ensure work orders are closed and invoiced in Foundation within 1 business day
- Ensure timecards are sent in daily and all hours are allocated in Foundation
- Ensure all expenses (including technician incurred) are on the related WO in Foundation
- Partake in after hours on-call program (if required)
- Ensure all emergency calls are attended to onsite within 2 hours, including after hours.
- Obtain security clearance/background checks as required for site access
- Assist with service quotes/contracts;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
- Maintain a clean and valid driver’s license/abstract;
- Provide assistance to other trades, as required;
- Travel by service vehicle and airplane can be expected.
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or required by business needs
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Always perform duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner
Skills
- Journeyman in either electrical, heavy equipment or automotive
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a generator technician
- EGSA Certification is preferred
- PM3 Certification is preferred
- Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and specifications of a variety of types of mechanical and electrical equipment, including manufacturer's manuals and parts books
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Excellent understanding of CSA 282 - Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings
- Excellent understanding of CSA B139 - Installation Code for Oil-burning Equipment
- Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills
- A valid G Class driver's license and clean Driver's Abstract
- Able to work unsupervised, and follow all safety procedures and policies
- Can lift up to 100lbs repeatedly
- Can work while standing for up to 8 hours and/or remain seated for up to 8 hours
Compensation
- Base salary of $80,000-$100,000
- Quarterly Performance Based Bonus
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
