We are excited to partner with KNDS Canada on their search for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.
The EHS Manager at KNDS Canada will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, and fostering a strong culture of safety across the facility. The role involves developing and implementing EHS strategies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting continuous improvement in safety practices to reduce workplace incidents. Additionally, the EHS Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, CAF, and DND to align safety protocols with project objectives, while overseeing EHS training programs, audits, and reporting to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
The EHS Manager will perform the following responsibilities and duties at KNDS Canada:
- Create and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies in compliance with federal, provincial, and industry-specific regulations, ensuring alignment with defense industry standards.
- Regularly assess potential hazards in the workplace, perform safety audits, and implement corrective actions to minimize risks and prevent accidents in coordination with the Program Manager and the Compliance Manager
- Design and deliver comprehensive training for employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental protection, fostering a proactive safety culture at the RMC and the headquarters in coordination with the Compliance Manager and HR Manager respectively.
- Lead investigations of workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents, ensuring thorough documentation, root cause analysis, and timely reporting to relevant authorities in coordination with the security officer and HR manager respectively.
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, and support project goals through effective EHS management.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance, providing regular reports to KNDS Canada officers and recommending improvements.
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans, ensuring the RMC is ready to handle emergencies, including fire, spills, or other environmental incidents, and lead response efforts as necessary.
- Perform other duties or projects as required by KNDS Canada Officers as needed.
