Overview
Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) is a Christian, Classical, and Collaborative (3 In-Class instruction & 2 Homeschool days / week) K-12 school.
CCA desires to equip and assist parents in the discipleship of their children for God’s glory. CCA exists to cultivate wisdom and virtue by nourishing the soul on truth, goodness, and beauty, so that, in Christ, the student is better able to know, glorify, and enjoy God.
In order to accomplish that mission, we require spiritually mature, competent teachers who love children, have a passion for discipleship, and are skilled in their craft.
Character/Spiritual Qualifications:
Teachers at CCA shall:
- be actively growing in intimacy with the Lord
- be a faithful member or adherent of a local Christian church
- model sacrificial giving of time, talents, and treasures, including a commitment to the biblical pattern of tithing
- understand, embrace, and promote the beliefs, mission, and vision of CCA
- maintain a lifestyle that is above reproach
Competency Qualifications:
Teachers at CCA shall:
- possess skills and experience related to teaching children
- demonstrate a clear understanding of the Christian discipleship process
- be willing to learn the classical model of education and implement it in the classroom
- be a capable oral and written communicator, with above-average language skills
- be well organized, able to manage a classroom
- possess the basic personality qualities, administrative skills, conflict-management skills discernment skills, and relational skills necessary to relate well to children and their parents
- have the ability to work with existing school staff and leadership in a unified way
- preferably possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study
- be willing to complete further education and training
Lines of Accountability & Organizational Relationships:
- Teachers shall receive supervision and support from the Headmaster
- Teachers will receive an annual review from the Headmaster
Teacher Duties:
Teachers at CCA shall:
- contribute positively to the school culture
- be diligent students of the classical curriculum
- prepare effective and engaging lessons
- teach a variety of subjects, as required
- cultivate an orderly classroom environment
- manage discipline issues in the classroom
- coordinate with parents for at-home learning
- participate in regular staff meetings and professional development days
- mark and record student grades for report cards
- help supervise student breaks on a rotation of teachers/volunteers
- perform other duties, as required
Pay: $30,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
