Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Off-Road)

About the Position
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Off-Road) to join our growing team based out of Camrose, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of construction and earthmoving equipment in both shop and field environments.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues on heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Inspect and repair excavators, dozers, shredders, rock trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers, graders, compactors, and other off-road equipment.
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrains, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records.
- Conduct equipment inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company and industry safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification preferred; experienced apprentices and equivalent experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components.
- Experience with equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Doppstadt, Hyundai, Hitachi, and similar manufacturers is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
