Overview
Join our dynamic construction team as a Crane Rigger, where you will play a vital role in safely and efficiently lifting, positioning, and securing heavy materials and equipment on construction sites. As a Crane Rigger, you will work closely with crane operators and other heavy machinery personnel to ensure all lifting operations are executed flawlessly, supporting the successful completion of large-scale projects. Responsibilities
- Safely attach loads to cranes using rigging gear such as slings, hooks, shackles, and chains while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Inspect rigging equipment regularly for wear and damage; replace or repair as needed to maintain safety standards.
- Communicate clearly with crane operators and ground crew to coordinate lift plans and ensure precise placement of materials.
- Assist in the assembly, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance of rigging systems used for tower cranes and self-erecting tower cranes.
- Follow detailed instructions and lift plans to execute complex lifting operations on construction sites with precision.
- Maintain detailed logs of rigging activities, inspections, and safety checks to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Support site safety initiatives by identifying potential hazards related to rigging and heavy lifting activities.
Skills
- Experience with tower crane and self-erecting tower crane rigging is preferred.
- Proven experience working on construction sites with tower cranes and self-erecting tower cranes.
- Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, hooks, chains, lifting hardware, and load-bearing components.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, lift plans, and rigging plans.
- Familiarity with WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Part 15 (Rigging) and safe lifting practices.Strong understanding of safe rigging procedures, load control, signaling, and hazard identification
