Job Summary
- Position Title: Machine Operator (Sewing)
- Environment: Manufacturing Facility. This role is under the Union Agreement with the company.
- Location: Edmonton
- Shifts: 8 Hours
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Rate of Pay: $17.00/hour to start, rate increase to $18.00 after probation, including incentive pay
- Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Operating an industrial sewing machine.
- Minor sewing machine maintenance (i.e. changing needles, loopers, thread etc.).
- Quilt panels as per schedule
- Product quality control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- 1-2 years’ related experience.
- Experience with sewing machines is beneficial but not necessary.
- Willingness to learn and adapt where needed.
- Ability to read basic production drawings will be an asset.
- Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance is a must.
- Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- High attention to cleanliness of machines and working station
- Average level of English communication skills
- Strong team player
