Duffin's Donuts is looking for a reliable, responsible, and experienced Restaurant Shift Manager to help lead our team and oversee restaurant operations during evening, late-night, and weekend shifts.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and supporting staff, maintaining high standards of customer service, ensuring food quality and cleanliness, handling cash and point-of-sale procedures, resolving customer concerns, and keeping the restaurant operating smoothly throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate is a strong team leader who is dependable, organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable taking responsibility for restaurant operations. Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, bakery, café, fast-food, retail, or similar customer-service environment is strongly preferred.
Schedule: Evening, late-night, and weekend availability is required. Candidates must be comfortable taking responsibility for the restaurant and team during assigned shifts.
Wage: Competitive hourly wage based on relevant supervisory and management experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support team members during evening, late-night, and weekend shifts
- Lead by example and assist with customer service, cashiering, food preparation, cleaning, and other operational duties when needed
- Ensure customers receive friendly, accurate, and efficient service
- Assign duties and coordinate staff to maintain efficient service during busy periods
- Monitor employee performance and provide direction, coaching, and support as needed
- Ensure food and beverage items are prepared and served according to established recipes, portion standards, and quality requirements
- Monitor product availability and coordinate restocking and preparation to meet customer demand
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and resolve issues appropriately
- Ensure cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures are followed accurately
- Complete cash counts, shift reconciliations, and other required closing or shift-end procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the restaurant
- Ensure employees follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures
- Monitor counter, kitchen, bakery, dining, storage, and service areas throughout the shift
- Ensure required cleaning and closing duties are completed properly and on time
- Monitor inventory and supply levels and advise management when items need to be reordered or restocked
- Respond appropriately to operational issues, equipment concerns, staffing challenges, and unexpected situations during the shift
- Communicate important shift information, staffing concerns, customer issues, and operational matters to senior management
- Assist with training and supporting new employees
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and service standards are consistently followed
- Perform other operational and supervisory duties as required
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous supervisory, team lead, shift supervisor, or management experience is strongly preferred
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bakery, café, fast-food, retail, or other high-volume customer-service environment is an asset
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to provide clear direction to team members
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during busy or challenging situations
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Comfortable handling cash, processing payments, and completing shift cash procedures
- Ability to learn and use point-of-sale systems
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
- Ability to identify problems and take initiative to resolve them
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and service standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to take responsibility for assigned shifts
- Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team
- Willingness to perform hands-on operational duties and assist team members wherever needed
- Must be available to work evenings, late nights, and weekends
