Radiologist, Abdominal Imaging Division
The Toronto Joint Department of Medical Imaging: University Health Network, Mount Sinai Health System, and Women's College Hospital. The Toronto Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at University Health Network, Mount Sinai Health System, and Women's College Hospital, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is recruiting a full-time Abdominal Radiologist, with a specific interest and experience in genitourinary imaging, including prostate imaging and procedures This position is to be primarily based out of Toronto General Hospital with responsibilities also to include other Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) locations in Toronto. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2020 or sooner, as mutually agreed.
The JDMI operates across the following Institutions: Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (collectively known as University Health Network, “UHN”), Sinai Health System and Women’s College Hospital. Collectively, there is a wide spectrum of clinical activities including supra-regional services in Liver and Kidney Transplantation, Oncology, etc. There is no trauma unit. There is an install base of 16 MDCT and 11 MRI units, including dedicated research units. The abdominal workload per annum is as follows: ultrasound 125,000CT 70,000, MR 10,000, biopsies 2,000. The successful candidate will join a team of 30 Faculty and 11 Fellows in the Abdominal Division.
Candidates must hold an MD degree or equivalent and be fully proficient in English. Prior fellowship training is required, with multiple fellowship years an asset. The candidate must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. The position will include clinical and research components. A proven track record of research activities and first author publications is required. The successful applicant will be eligible to apply for protected research time. Teaching will be integrated within the clinical and research aspects of the job description. The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Compensation is in accordance with the uniform average income of a Radiologist in the Province of Ontario in the range of $350,000-$500,000 per annum (fee-for-service billings) for a full-time position (45 hours per week) with an opportunity for increased income commensurate with experience and academic credentials. The successful candidate is anticipated to join the Radiologist professional practice plan of the Department, and will have the option of purchasing health and dental insurance through the group practice plan.
