Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian / Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility while supporting our production operations. This role is essential to ensuring our workplace meets high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entire facility at all times.
- Perform routine and detailed cleaning of production equipment and machine parts.
- Support the production floor with cleaning and sanitizing of production rooms and work areas.
- Operate floor cleaning equipment, including sweepers and scrubbers.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, hallways, and other common areas.
- Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repair needs.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and secure facility by identifying and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Follow all company health, safety, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Perform other custodial and housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial, janitorial, industrial, or manufacturing cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
- Experience operating floor cleaning equipment such as sweepers and scrubbers is an asset.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to following safety and sanitation standards.
