The Quantitative Strategies & Research ‘QSR’ team is a highly technical group in Capital Markets that develops software-based trading models. Development and maintenance of these models requires a unique combination of investment knowledge and technical software skills.

Who you'll work with

You will work alongside investment professionals in a world-class quantitative investment team with a focus on automated algorithmic trading systems and software engineering infrastructure. We work very close together in an open and collaborative research & development environment. The team manages portfolios using stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, and derivatives. You will continue to build on your knowledge of highly sophisticated systematic investment strategies and how they are implemented in the real world. We have a very entrepreneurial, tightly knit, and result-driven culture. You will be mentored and guided by senior members of the team in Capital Markets.

You will also interact with the Solution Engineering team, who works closely with the QSR team supporting elements of their systems such as data structuring and data pipelines.

What you'll do

Improve and work on our extensive internal proprietary investment strategy codebase under the guidance of senior colleagues in Investments.
The code you will work on directly supports investment functions including but not limited to: proprietary investment strategies, automated algorithmic trading, portfolio management, order management, risk analysis, automated reporting, profit and loss analysis, performance attribution, portfolio analytics, quantitative strategies research & implementation, regression tests, investment reporting,
Proactively look for areas of improvement and bring new ideas to the team through analysis and research
Contribute to the ongoing development of the QSR platform for portfolio analysis and model execution
Work with quantitative researchers to create, tune and maintain quantitative models to aid in improved investment outcomes
Learn about proprietary quantitative investment strategies and supporting systems
Work with QSR and IT partners to implement software engineering best practices including; code quality, robustness, readability, maintainability.

What you'll need

Undergraduate or graduate degree in quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science or Math
Strong interest in financial markets and quantitative investment.
Strong motivation to learn about systematic investment strategies and automated trading systems. Prior experience is an asset.
Knowledge in finance, statistics and/or CFA candidacy
Strong programming skills in a variety of modern programming languages including but not limited to Python, Matlab, Pandas, vue.js.
Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and techniques, including design patterns, object-oriented programming, database, version control systems.
Highly creative, entrepreneurial, and resourceful
Excellent work ethic and can-do attitude
High quality of work and attention to detail
Team player looking to work in an open and collaborative environment
You must be graduating from your program in 2021 or have graduated in 2020
