Food and Beverage Manager ~ Wintergreen Golf & Country Club
The Food & Beverage Manager plays a key leadership role within the Wintergreen management team and is responsible for the overall success of Wintergreen's Food & Beverage operations, including the Restaurant & Banquet Room, Caddy Shack, and Beverage Cart services.
This is a hands-on leadership position that combines exceptional guest service with strong operational management. Working collaboratively with all departments, the Food & Beverage Manager leads a dynamic team, drives exceptional dining experiences, and ensures the successful execution of Wintergreen's operational goals, strategies, and standards throughout the golf season.
You Will:
- Lead all aspects of Wintergreen's Food & Beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service and operational excellence.
- Develop creative menus and in-house promotions while identifying innovative opportunities to increase revenue and enhance the guest experience.
- Prepare and manage department budgets, purchasing, inventory control, cost management, accounting requirements, and loss prevention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and liquor regulations while promoting a safe workplace for employees and guests.
- Recruit, train, mentor, coach, and schedule a high-performing team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and service-focused culture.
- Lead by example by providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a visible presence during daily operations. This is a hands on position where you will be required to help and assist in all outlets as required.
- Coordinate food and beverage services for tournaments, corporate events, weddings, and special functions in partnership with the Tournament Sales Coordinator and other departments.
- Complete accurate weekly management reports, daily revenue reporting, inventory reporting, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all Resorts of the Canadian Rockies policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
- Contribute as an active member of the Wintergreen Management Team by participating in management meetings, leadership initiatives, training sessions, and other management responsibilities.
You:
- Have 3-5 years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience, including front-of-house operations and supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can effectively prioritize multiple tasks while remaining calm under pressure.
- Possess strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
- Are passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Stay current on food, beverage, and hospitality trends and enjoy bringing new ideas to the operation.
- Have strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, inventory management, cash reconciliation, and cost controls.
- Are highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
- Are proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Point-of-Sale systems, and other computer applications.
- Have experience processing invoices and organizing accounts payable documentation.
- Are comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and understand that longer hours may occasionally be required during peak periods.
- Are excited to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours during the busy golf season.
- Cooking experience and education is an asset.
Position Details:
- Full-time seasonal position averaging 40 hours per week.
- Employment runs from late March through the end of October, based on the golf season.
- Hours vary based on tee times, tournaments, special events, and weather conditions.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required, as these are our busiest times.
