Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Safety Manager (PSM) to oversee all health and safety activities for a construction project in Burnaby, BC for one of our client. This is a dedicated safety leadership role requiring a full-time onsite presence. The successful candidate must be solely dedicated to safety management.
The Project Safety Manager will ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements while fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all onsite health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Conduct daily site inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, client requirements, and project safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and records.
- Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and workers to promote a safe work environment.
- Serve as the primary safety representative for the project.
- Ability to enforce safety standards while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Ability to conduct hazard assessments, site inspections, and risk assessments.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 4 to 5 years of full-time construction safety management experience.
- Board-certified safety credential such as CRSP
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety (or related field)
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and construction safety practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Ability to work independently and make sound safety decisions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety reporting software.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence (or equivalent) with reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment screening
- NCSO® or CSO designation.

Pay: $38.00-$48.00 per hour
