The Food Service Worker will be responsible for the excellent service of high quality, safe, nutritious food to our Long-Term Care Residents.
This is a Casual position which means you would pick up open shifts based on your availability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for production and preparation of simplified menu items and follows resident needs in accordance with care plans
- Assists with receiving and storage of foods according to food service policies and procedures
- Assist with food preparation of assigned food items for residents e.g. portioning of designated food items (beverages, desserts, cereal), toast, preparation of single portion food items (soup, poached egg, convenience item re-thermalization) etc.
- Serve food to residents according to Food Service policies and procedure. This may include service of food for resident special events, families or staff events
- Use good food handling techniques according to the Sanitation Code (Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association) and the Food Premises Regulation Act.
- Use safe work techniques according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participate in the facility Quality Improvement Program
Trinity Village Care Centre requires all new hires to submit a valid TB test, proof of flu vaccination, and Vulnerable Sector Police Check prior to start date.
