Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Follow care plans and document observations accurately for healthcare teams
- Support patients with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care environments is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, including medication administration and dementia care
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Certification in caregiving or relevant training is an asset but not mandatory; willingness to complete required training is expected
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
