IMCO is a growing ASME construction and service provider that operates out of New Glasgow, NS. While in a period of growth and development, we have open positions within our Quality Department we are looking for talented and self-motivated individuals to ensure that we meet and exceed our internal and our client’s quality demands.
Position Summary:
The QA/QC Inspector is primarily responsible for completing inspections, examinations and reporting findings as required by governing codes, standards, specifications and project quality plans or ITP's.
Responsibilities:
Ensure a commitment to IMCO’s incident-free vision, values, and culture.
Ensures the quality of construction is in accordance with IMCO Project Quality Plan and customer specifications.
Learns and becomes knowledgeable with the client's technical specifications and liaise with Owner's or clients on technical quality issues.
Completes and fulfills the requirement of Inspection and Test Plans in accordance with all required construction standards, code, and owner requirements (CSA W59 ASME Sec VIII, B31.3, etc.).
Reviews and completes project deliverables such as reports, logs, and ITP's.
Reviews and completes turnover packages in a timely fashion as per customer requirements.
Monitors and audits sub-contractors.
Performs inspections on work executed by sub-contractors.
Reviews and accepts sub-contractor turnover documentation.
Maintain/Creates weld maps and logs.
Verifies Material Receiving activities and fill out documentation as required.
Communicates quality concerns through the NCR process.
Initiates and/or provides technical input to all RFI's generated; track NCR/RFI responses as required.
Completes daily QA/QC Report.
Carries out visual examination of welding and bolting.
Ensures material indentation and traceability of welding and all installed/erected components.
Ensures correct and timely reporting of all examinations.
Ensures the welders are qualified for the welding processes they are using.
Monitors weld consumable receiving, handling, distribution, and storage.
Reviews logs for welder and line class NDE percentage. Requiring the necessary NDE when required.
Identifies all welds requiring PWHT or NDE. Coordinate with subcontractors to execute the work.
Carries out on a continuous basis quality surveillance of component/system erection to completion to ensure all components have been installed/erected as per the IFC drawings.
Witnesses pressure testing (hydro and pneumatic) of components in conjunction with the client inspector as required. Signs all pressure test documents when the test has been completed.
Performs visual examinations and monitoring of bolt up of critical components.
Qualifications:
CWB Level 1 or Level 2 Welding Inspector
Must have sound technical knowledge of CSA / ASME standards including W47.1/59, S16 and ASME Sec VIII pressure vessel and B31.3 Piping Codes.
Strong knowledge of NDT processes RT, UT, MT, PT.
NACE Coating experience an asset.
Class 5 Driver's Licence
Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office
