Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Trauma-Informed Cleaners to join our team on a part-time basis, full-time when schedule permits. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients and staff, with a focus on sensitivity and respect for individuals who may have experienced trauma, mental health struggles and anything in between. The ideal candidate will possess experience in cleaning and facilities maintenance, with a strong commitment to professionalism and confidentiality. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to our community while developing valuable skills in commercial cleaning and facilities upkeep. Cleaning experience is wonderful but not an asset. Having empathy is an asset, cleaning skills can be taught.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including offices, treatment rooms, and common areas, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Use appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to disinfect surfaces, floors, restrooms, and other areas as needed.
- Follow established protocols for trauma-informed care, demonstrating sensitivity and respect during all interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks such as trash removal, and minor repairs.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Document completed tasks and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to management promptly.
- Support the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility to foster a welcoming environment for clients and staff.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in cleaning, commercial cleaning, or facilities maintenance is preferred, but not an asset. Training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow specific cleaning protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with a respectful approach toward clients who may have experienced trauma.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practices is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Reliable transportation or access to reliable means of commuting is preferred. This role is vital in creating a safe and supportive environment through meticulous cleaning practices combined with trauma-informed care principles.
