Job Title: Early Childhood Educator
JOB SUMMARY
Is responsible to provide a safe caring environment for children between the ages of 30 months and 5 years of age, including special needs children or infants/toddler to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth. Uses Center philosophy, programs and policies to maintain and enhance the Centre's reputation for excellence.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CHILD DEVELOPMNT AND CARE
-Actively involved with direct care of the children
-Facilitate the development and behaviour of children
-Develop, implement, and evaluate programs
-Support holistic development of children
-Meet health, welfare and safety needs
-Meet nutritional needs
-Guide children’s behaviour
-Protect children from physical and emotional harm
RECORD KEEPING
- Maintain records, report problems or concerns to centre manager or Executive Director
EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES
- Develop and maintain a safe environment
-Operate and maintain facilities
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS
-Form collaborative partnerships with families
-Use community resources
-Advocate for the children and families
-Provide an inclusive environment

QUALIFICATIONS
Education-Grade 12, plus completed Early Childhood Education Certificate program. Current
First Aid CPR Certificate.
Experience-Minimum two years of demonstrated proficiency in child care standards of practice in a licensed child care setting
Skills and Abilities-Ability to work independently, multi-task, time management, organizational skills. Team Player. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Anticipates and is consistently responsive and responsible to address issues and concerns at work.
Personal Characteristics-Flexible, patient, professional, prompt and reliable attendance at work. Creative, enthusiastic, neat and appropriate personal appearance and attire.
