Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable B-train Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves operating large commercial vehicles to safely and efficiently transport freight across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and experience with heavy equipment operation. Responsibilities
- Safely operate B-train tractor-trailers to transport freight over long distances or local routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures during operations
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle functionality
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Assist with freight handling, including securing loads and verifying cargo accuracy
Experience
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Prior experience operating B-train trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of freight handling, including forklift operation and heavy equipment operation
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics is a plus but not mandatory
- Experience in commercial driving, logistics, or transportation industries highly desirable
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy loads and performing vehicle inspections
