Company Overview
Canadian Network Installations Ltd. (CNI) has been proudly servicing the telecommunications industry for over 25 years, setting the benchmark for network installations and infrastructure support. Our mission is to provide exceptional products and services to both incumbent and competitive local exchange carriers, as well as private and public networks.
Canadian Network Installations is looking for an experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join our telecom construction team in Edmonton, Alberta, supporting Fixed Wireless tower construction projects.
This is a technical, construction-focused position requiring previous telecom tower construction experience. This is not an entry-level or purely administrative Project Coordinator role.
The successful candidate must understand the tower construction process, be able to read and interpret civil and engineering designs, maintain accurate project trackers, and effectively coordinate field crews, subcontractors, materials, schedules, and project deliverables.
This is an office and field-based position. Regular site visits are an important part of the role. Projects are located throughout Alberta, and the successful candidate must be comfortable travelling to active construction sites, driving to project locations, and staying out of town when required to support and oversee projects alongside the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Fixed Wireless tower construction projects from mobilization through completion and closeout.
- Maintain accurate project trackers across multiple active tower builds.
- Track project schedules, milestones, dependencies, action items, deliverables, deficiencies, and completion dates.
- Monitor upcoming activities and proactively identify potential delays, missing information, material requirements, and construction issues.
- Review and interpret civil designs, engineering drawings, construction drawings, and IFC packages.
- Identify discrepancies between engineering designs and actual site conditions and coordinate resolution with engineering and construction teams.
- Coordinate civil construction activities, including site preparation, excavation, foundations, concrete, grounding, and electrical.
- Coordinate tower erection, antenna and radio installation, cabling, power, and associated telecom infrastructure.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, deliveries, and site access.
- Ensure approved drawings, materials, equipment, and required documentation are available prior to crew mobilization.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify construction progress, quality, schedule, and project requirements.
- Travel to project sites throughout Central/Western Canada as required to support field operations and project delivery.
- Stay out of town when required to oversee active projects and work alongside the Project Manager and field teams.
- Provide on-site coordination and assist in resolving construction, engineering, scheduling, material, and logistical issues.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Construction Managers, engineers, field supervisors, subcontractors, clients, and vendors.
- Maintain progress reports, site photographs, construction records, deficiencies, and closeout documentation.
- Coordinate inspections and follow up on outstanding items through completion.
- Support multiple active tower construction projects while keeping project information accurate and current.

- Ability to manage multiple active projects and changing priorities.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and project tracking/scheduling software.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive to construction sites as required.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout Alberta and stay out of town when project requirements call for it.

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands both the engineering requirements and the realities of construction in the field.
The successful candidate should be able to review civil and engineering packages, understand what needs to be built, maintain accurate project trackers, coordinate effectively with field crews and subcontractors, identify problems early, and follow projects through to completion.
As a Senior Project Coordinator, you should be comfortable taking an active role in project delivery. This includes spending time at construction sites, working directly with the Project Manager and field teams, monitoring project progress, and helping resolve issues as they arise.
You must be comfortable working both in the office and at active construction sites. Some projects will require travel and overnight/out-of-town stays to support and oversee construction activities.
This is not a remote position. Regular office attendance, field/site visits, travel, driving, and occasional out-of-town stays are requirements of the role.
If you have proven telecom tower construction experience and are looking for a role that combines project coordination with hands-on field involvement, we’d like to hear from you.
