POSITION SUMMARY:
MasTec Purnell Canada Inc. (MPCI) is currently accepting resumes for an HSE Administrator to join its Oil and Gas division in Grande Prairie, AB.
Successful candidate will possess a clear passion for supporting safe work environments, will have a vision, drive and discipline to effectively champion our best-in-class safety performance, in order to exceed HSE expectations for both MPCI and our clients.
The anticipated start date for this permanent office-based position is immediate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Review and validate uploaded safety certificates in WorkHub
- Monitor and analyze training compliance of the workforce, comparing active workers and their training records within WorkHub
- Monitor, analyze, and support the completion of competencies of the workforce
- Create and maintain new jobs in Salus. Remove completed jobs.
- Create job folders for new projects within MPCI SharePoint site, as requested
- Prepare documented key performance indicators (ex. tailgate meetings, safety observation cards, field level hazard assessments) to be sent to client representatives, as requested
- Draft emergency response plans (ERPs) in Salus using the ERP template for new projects, distributing to supervision for review and approval
- Assist the HSE team by gathering information and drafting internal communication bulletins
- Assist with the mentorship program and support the process from enrolment to graduation
- Conduct spot checks on tailgate meetings and field level hazard assessments for proper completion and quality, providing feedback to supervision and HSE team
- Draft user guides for Salus, as requested
- Attend and maintain minutes and action logs for health and safety committee meetings, as requested
- Attend and support the coordination of monthly HSE meetings
- Provide safety statistics and performance reporting, as requested
- Assist leadership and workers with required safety training courses by completing and sending the internal training request form
- Gather and provide documentation to assist with incident investigation reports
- Support the coordination and minuting of planned emergency response drills
- Participate in monthly inspections of the office/shop/yard, as requested
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Safety administrative or related field experience
- Experience working in construction/energy infrastructure/pipelines is an asset
- Health and Safety Administrator (HSA) designation from the ASCA is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
