We are hiring for a Full-Time Retail Security Guard for a luxury store in York Region – Downtown Markham!

Position Details
- Site: Luxury retail setting within a smaller, enclosed space
- Location: Downtown Markham, ON (York Region)
- Available Shift: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:15 AM – 5:00 PM
- (34.75 hrs/week, shortlisted candidates may also have the opportunity to
- pick up additional shifts
- based on availability and operational needs)
- Pay Rate: $19/hour
- This is a standing position requiring you to remain on your feet for the full duration of your shift
Responsibilities Include
- Be visible to the public as they enter the premises
- Acknowledge customers as they enter and exit the store
- Strong interpersonal communication; good command of the English language
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, customers, contractors, and visitors of the client’s property
- Perform routine property patrols and respond to fire alarms
- Detect, challenge, and displace unwanted individuals
- Promote safety and adhere to client site emergency procedures
- Act as an on-site First Aid responder until emergency medical assistance arrives
- Record and maintain logbooks of daily activities
- Complete daily documentation, including memo book notes and incident reports as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must hold Valid Ontario Security Guard License issued by the Private Securities & Investigative Services Act
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR Level 'C' certificate
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, including up and downstairs
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of common security policies and various related Acts, Codes, WHMIS
- Highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills; including conflict resolution, problem-solving, decision making, situational assessment, and communication skills
- Parking enforcement, if required
- Previous security guard experience of one (1) year preferred
- Must be willing to travel to Markham; additional fare may be required to travel to York Region
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently
