Job Summary
The purpose of the Emergency Medical Responder / Security Officer is to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of individuals, property, assets within a designated area. This role is responsible for effectively responding to emergency situations, maintaining a high level of vigilance.
This position is at the Nutrien Patience Lake mine site roughly 15 minutes outside of Saskatoon. The successful candidate will be required to travel to site each shift.
Responsibilities
- Primary First Aid on site, responding to critical incidents, emergencies, or crisis situations.
- Assist in coordinating external emergency medical responders, when needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain 100% compliance with federal, provincial or site-specific safety and prehospital care standards.
- Maintain a constant presence by continuously monitoring premises security systems including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control systems.
- Investigate any suspicious activities, report incidents, and take appropriate action to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
- Accurately document all incidents, emergencies, or unusual occurrences in detailed reports by logging facts, observations, and actions taken for any potential further investigations.
- Control access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and ensure only authorized personnel or visitors gain entry.
- Respond to security breaches, trespassing incidents, or unauthorized activities promptly and appropriately.
Education Requirements
- Completion of Grade Twelve, secondary school
- Emergency Medical Responder certified
- Unrestricted EMR is an asset
- Security Guard License is an asset
Work Experience
- Any experience in emergency response, security, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to commute to site

- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation
- Pass drug and alcohol test
Pay: $22.50 per hour
