Job Summary
Husky is looking for a Manager, Discipline Engineering to join the Heavy Oil & Oil Sands Lloydminster Production Services department at their Lloydminster, SK location.
This position is accountable for the leadership and supervision of a team of professional engineers and technologists within the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process engineering disciplines. The team is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and general technical support to the Heavy Oil and Oil Sands business unit. The team executes a variety of assignments such as root cause failure analysis, piping stress analysis, arc flash analysis, project documentation reviews, standard and specification development, and mentoring other employees.
The Manager must foster a cohesive, progressive team atmosphere with high morale and collaboration. This role requires strong technical competency, solid judgment, innovative foresight, excellent communication skills and fundamental understanding of business objectives to ensure the teams alignment and effectiveness. The success of this role depends upon collaboration with various internal partners and external entities.

Core Responsibilities
Promotes collaborative work environment and high reliability organization principles.
Leads the development and implementation of standards, specifications, and best practices which supports operations, maintenance and other engineering teams.
Provides strategic goals and priorities to the team which correspond to business goals and objectives and align with corporate Technical Services teams.
Identifies and implements initiatives to enhance work processes and continuously improve operational integrity.
Ensures Husky’s Professional Practice Management Program (PPMP) is adhered to as the Responsible Member of the team.

Experience
Previous leadership experience leading a multi-discipline team.
Knowledge of and practical experience in direct supervision of professional engineering work, checking professional engineering work, authentication of professional engineering work, and field review of professional engineering work
Responsible Member providing overall direction and supervision to engineers practicing the professions of engineering according a Professional Practice Management Plan
Minimum 10 years experience in an engineering role at an industrial setting such as upstream oil and gas, crude oil refining and upgrading, or petrochemical facilities
Working knowledge of the upstream petroleum industry, preferably in heavy oil and oil sands production and operations
Experience executing engineering work assignments in brownfield operating facilities

Education & Professional Designations
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Member (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA and/or APEGS
Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract. As this position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver’s abstract for the preceding 5-year period when appearing for an interview.
