Job Description
- Operate hydraulic front-end loader in a safe and productive manner
- Have the ability to work in a front end loader with forks AND a large loader with bucket and forks (examples: WA500, CAT 980, CAT 988 etc.)
- Stockpile armour stone in appropriate piles
- Loading and offloading armour stone from trucks
- Ensure when reporting for work and while at work that the proper PPE is worn at all times
- Secure special attachments to equipment as required
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspection checks and fill out inspection booklet
- Perform minor repairs to equipment
- Provide safe, prompt and efficient support to assigned projects
- Ensure that all activities are carried out with due regard to personal safety, the safety of others and in line with Company policies and procedures
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to Management
- Adhere to workplace safety policies and procedures
- Able to work unsupervised and independently
- Follow the equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repairs are required
Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience operating a front-end loader a must
- Prior experience operating a large loader a must
- Experience with working with dimensional armour stone an asset
- Ability to work unsupervised in a timely and accurately manner to complete task at hand
- Ability to follow directions
- Preferred to have surface miners’ common core
- Preferred to have WHIMIS
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure for the purpose of stockpiling dimensional armour stone in the correct piles as well and loading the right material on trucks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
