Job Description
As a Landscape Skilled Labourer, you will support landscape construction projects throughout the Okanagan. You should have hands-on experience in landscape work, hardscaping, and general construction tasks. The ability to operate equipment such as excavators, skid steers, or loaders is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape construction tasks in all outdoor weather conditions
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Perform digging, raking, trenching, and site preparation
- Install pavers, retaining walls, steps, slabs, and other hardscape features
- Assist with softscape tasks, including planting, soil prep, sod, and mulch
- Support irrigation installation and repairs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and WorkSafeBC regulations
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors
Equipment Operation (Asset)
Experience operating equipment is not required, but the following skills are considered a strong advantage:
- Grading
- Trenching
- Backfilling
- Working in tight areas
- Safe operation of excavators, skid steers, and loaders
Requirements
- Experience in landscape or construction work
- Physically fit and able to work in all weather
- Minimum 18 years of age + high school diploma
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with clean abstract
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Knowledge of PPE, safety procedures, and safe tool use
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
