Job Overview
Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, the Overnight Housekeeper has the overall responsible for assisting in housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent Resident and Guest experience.
Scope of Duties
Working alongside the Homecare staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing housekeeping tasks. Additionally, they will assist in handling emergencies, ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining the security of the building at all times. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate strong organizational abilities, maintain professionalism, and work effectively independently.
Duties
- The housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness of all facility areas.
- Respond to various types of emergencies (fire alarms, elevator entrapment, medical emergencies) under the direction of the Health Care Aide.
- Frequent interior patrols
- Maintain a presence to ensure the safety and security of all persons on site.
- Dusts all tables, chairs, desks, cabinets, lamps/light fixtures, wall vents, hand rails, ceiling fans, baseboards and blinds.
- Checks sofas/chairs for debris and vacuums, dusts and spot cleans sofas and chairs.
- Vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops floors. Spot cleans carpets.
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms. Refills paper towel, toilet paper and soap dispensers.
- Identifies potential maintenance issues.
- Demonstrates safe and proper techniques for chemical/cleaning solutions and stocking of housekeeping carts.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Qualifications
- WHMIS and Standard First Aid, and CPR certifications are an asset.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent grooming standards.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents and have a good understanding of the aging process.
- Strong organization and communication skills; experience managing people and working collaboratively across multiple levels, and functions.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Incumbent is occasionally required to taste or smell
- Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and work in a standing position for a long period of time
Hours of Work:
Night shift from 11:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M.
Notes
The success candidate will be required to undergo a security screening for working in the vulnerable sector.
Position: Competitive Salary with experience.
