Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to manage various driving tasks. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial insured driving experience with an AZ license. (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience driving manual transmission trucks. (Required)
- Must possess a valid AZ Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record (CVOR and abstract required).
- Must be 26 years of age or older.
- Ability to pass a road test, physical abilities test, and background check.
- Positive, energetic work ethic with good communication skills is highly preferred.
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
- Experience using Samsara ELD system (an asset)
Responsibilities
- Perform tailgate pick-ups and deliveries to customers.
- Perform mandated pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, identify and report any safety or maintenance issues.
- Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses.
- Report any defects, safety issues, maintenance needs, accidents, or violations immediately.
- Document and log work/rest periods following regulatory and company policies for each shift.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions and shipment manifests.
- Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.
- Responsible for load securement using load bars and straps.
- Observe and comply with the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the Highway Traffic Act.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with external and internal customers.
Job type: Full-time/ permanent
Pay: $23.50/hr on payroll
Shift Timings: 8-10-hour shift starting at 6am
Expected Hours: 45-55hrs per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
