GCX Contracting Ltd. is looking for a skilled, reliable, and self-sufficient Maintenance Technician to join our team immediately. We specialize in high-quality finishing work for restoration companies and ongoing building maintenance across the Okanagan.If you are a "finisher" who can be left on a job site to turn a repair into a masterpiece, we want to hear from you.The RoleYou will be responsible for responding to job sites (often following a restoration event) to perform high-standard painting, trim, and drywall work. You must be comfortable working independently and managing a punch list from start to finish.Key Responsibilities:
- Professional Painting: Full-room painting, accent walls, and seamless touch-ups.
- Trim Work: Installing, repairing, and finishing baseboards, casing, and crown molding.
- Drywall Repair: Minor patching, sanding, and texture matching to prep surfaces for paint.
- General Maintenance: Performing various basic building maintenance tasks as required by the site.
- Site Management: Ensuring a clean workspace and professional conduct while representing GCX at client locations.
Requirements
- Proven Skills: Prior experience in painting, trim carpentry, and drywall finishing is essential.
- Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel to sites between Vernon and Penticton.
- Independence: Ability to arrive at a site, understand the scope, and complete the job to a high standard without constant supervision.
- Availability: Ready to start as soon as possible.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
