Cranemasters Hoisting + Rigging Training is an Edmonton-based company which has been providing rigging and overhead crane training services for over 18 years throughout Canada.
We are currently recruiting for an Overhead Crane & Rigging Instructor to join our team. The instructor will be expected to teach in-person (at Cranemasters office or abroad) and virtually (hosted from Cranemasters office).
Candidate must have experience instructing various trades in a classroom setting. Must be able to adapt the teaching style, explain the principles taught clearly and accurately to various skill sets.
Must be energetic, able to motivate the participants and show their passion for the subject matter. Taking a keen interest in all students and adapt/change their teaching style without compromising the net outcome. Must let class participants feel confident to ask the simplest question.
The ideal candidate must have hands on rigging experience. Must be self-motivated and work well individually, as well as in a team setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point), Zoom Cloud meetings are an asset. The ideal candidate will be required to aid in technical writing and implementing new training programs on non-training days (at Cranemasters office).
The candidate should be able to communicate clearly in English and must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people and display confidence when presenting materials. The ability to be approachable and professional when working directly with students is a requirement.
Rigging experience and knowledge of all sling types, hardware, below the hook lifting devices, lever hoists, chain hoists and hooks are required. Familiarity with the OH&S codes in the relative training areas and ASME standards relating to the rigging materials would be beneficial. Willing to learn and take further training when and if required.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Experience in the crane, lifting, and material handling industry as an equipment operator, inspector, rigger, mechanic, or manager.
- Instructor experience a must.
- Maintain a professional and approachable attitude during in-class or virtual instruction and when dealing with fellow staff
- Must have the availability to function independently and be flexible
- Must be willing to travel. Instructors train in Edmonton, but also on customer sites at various locations.
- Must have strong organizational skills to maintain expense reports and training documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, power point)
- Proficient in Zoom Cloud Meetings for virtual training courses
- Must be able to lift weights of at least 40lbs
- Possess a valid drivers licence and own a reliable vehicle.
Salary will be competitive to industry standard and based on level of experience.
