Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Overnight Street Outreach Workers to engage with individuals experiencing homelessness during nighttime hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to social justice, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct proactive outreach to individuals living on the streets, in encampments, or other outdoor settings.
· Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support.
· Distribute food, water, hygiene kits, and emergency supplies.
· Assist individuals in accessing shelter, healthcare, and social services.
· Document interactions and maintain accurate case notes.
· Work collaboratively with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
· Ensure the safety of clients, self, and team members while in the field.
Qualifications
· Experience in social services, outreach, or related field preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those with mental health and substance use challenges.
· Understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and housing-first principles
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred and 3 years experience transporting clients.
· Must be able to work overnight shifts in various weather conditions.
