Outdoor Learning Instructor Job Description
Job Overview
iGen Education Group believes in the development of the whole-person through outdoor learning. Our stimulating learning experiences foster intellectual growth, academic achievement, and leadership abilities, in relation to the BC Elementary Curriculum. We offer after-school programs, workshops, camps, field trips, and birthday parties for kids ages three to 15 (Preschool to Grade 9).
Duties
Duties include but not limited to:
· planning outdoor learning experiences
· organizing and leading outdoor learning experiences
· assessing outdoor learning experiences
· reporting on learning progress
· interacting with parents and families
· Operational assistance for the outdoor learning department, as directed
Responsibilities for Outdoor Learning Instructor
· To plan and deliver outdoor education and learning outside the classroom opportunities which supports the purposes and implementation of Curriculum for Excellence
· Delivering Outdoor Education and learning outside the classroom opportunities to groups of students
· Leading in the development of the Outdoor Education programme
· Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
· Perform other duties as deemed necessary for the successful execution of programs
· Collaborated with colleagues, and community organizations in the design and delivery of the program.
Qualifications for Outdoor Learning Instructor
- B.Ed. Elementary, Hold valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Valid Standard First Aid- CPR-C
- Experience guiding outdoor experiences
- Experience working with children and youth
- Team player, self-directed, Motivated, professional, patient, positive, hardworking and flexible
- Comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups.
- Class 4 BC driving license or ability to obtain.
- A criminal background check is required
- Candidates must be 19 or older. University/College student or fresh graduates are welcome
Work Remotely
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
