Job Summary:
The Junior IT Assistant provides day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting for employees, assists in maintaining IT systems, and supports the setup and maintenance of hardware and software. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals starting their career in IT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues via help desk tickets, phone, email, or in-person
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees by setting up user accounts, emails, and devices
- Monitor and update antivirus, system updates, and routine security checks
- Maintain inventory records of hardware and software assets
- Assist in data backup and recovery tasks
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when needed
- Follow IT policies, procedures, and security protocols
- Assist with internal documentation and user guides
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in IT support or related role (co-op or internship experience acceptable)
- Basic knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and common business software
- Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting methods
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role
- Customer-service-oriented attitude
Assets (Not Required but Preferred):
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
- Knowledge of Active Directory and basic networking concepts
- A+ or similar IT certification

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
